FAQs

  • Banya is a social wellness space rooted in ancient bathing traditions with a modern reintroduction. Our contrast therapy experience invites you to move through cycles of heat and cold using communal saunas, cold plunges, a cedar barrel hot tub, relaxation rooms and refreshment bar.

This rhythm of contrast helps boost circulation, support physical and mental recovery, and navigate your body’s nervous system balance. Most guests flow through 4 to 8 rounds, with space to rest, hydrate, and connect along the way.

For centuries, public baths have offered a place to step away from the noise of daily life where people gathered to restore the body, connect with others, and find pause in a rhythm larger than themselves. In a world of constant connection, Banya continues that tradition as a place to unplug, slow down, and come back to what’s real.

  • You’re in good hands! Our team is here to guide you if you have questions. Banya is all about going at your own pace, and tuning into how you body is feeling. Start with shorter sessions in the sauna and ease into the cold plunge if it’s your first time.

  • Please bring your own towel and bathing suit and water bottle. In addition, Banya is a barefoot friendly facility but please feel welcome to bring your own flip flops and maybe even a robe to lounge in! Staying hydrated is important, so bring a water bottle, though we’ll have hydration options available too. If you forget your towel, Banya will have items available for purchase.

  • To get the most out of Banya, we would encourage avoiding alcohol and heavy meals right before you arrive. Hydrate well, and wear comfortable clothing you can easily change out of.

  • We highly recommend it! Banya experiences can fill up quickly, especially on weekends. Reserving your spot in advance guarantees your relaxation time, so when our schedule goes live, book online or give us a call!

  • During public hours: Local city ordinance requires guests to have swimsuit coverage during public hours. We support personal comfort and exposed skin is allowed. Full nudity is not.

For private bookings: Feel welcome to shape your private booking experience to your group’s comfort level, including choosing a clothing-optional environment if that feels aligned. Just let your guests know in advance so everyone can arrive informed and at ease.

  • Phones are not permitted in the spa area. Individual combination lockers will be provided to safely store your phone and other personal belongings during your visit.

It is non negotiable that we will strive to protect privacy and comfort of all guests. Our mission is to curate a safe communal space for all people. Furthermore, phones don’t operate well when submerged in water or left in excessive heat.

  • Two hours is about the average time guests enjoy a session, but your session ticket functions fully as a day-pass at Banya, so stay as long as you’d like. We emphasize taking your time moving between the heat, cold plunge, and relaxation areas for a full recharge. Once you wind down from the sauna and cold plunge circuit, spend a while hydrating in our cozy lounge or enjoy refreshments in the bar.

  • All genders share all spaces of the spa. Changing rooms with privacy curtains and private bathrooms will be available for all guests. All locker rooms and spa areas of Banya are co-gender spaces.

  • Banya does not observe quiet sessions. Banya welcomes and encourages guests to make new connections with others in the community, all with a backdrop of fun upbeat music and a social atmosphere. You are welcome to use Banya as place to socialize or take time for yourself, the choice is yours.

  • We’ve got you covered with the basics you’ll need such as shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hair dryers, and lotions. The restroom and primp rooms both include allergen-friendly neutral lotions and unscented hand wash if you have sensitivities. If you prefer to use your own shower products after Banya, please feel free to bring your own to use in the private showers. Personal products such as body scrubs or soaps should not be brought into the main spa area and should only be used in the personal private showers.

  • Yes, we will offer a women’s only night! We’re all about creating comfortable spaces, so we offer a designated women’s night each week. Hop on our E-news to stay in the loop about our upcoming schedule or contact us to confirm which evenings are dedicated to women-only.

  • For now, we’re a kid-free zone! Banya is designed as a peaceful retreat for adults to relax and recharge, so we keep the vibe calm and restorative. Maybe treat yourself to some solo spa time or invite friends!

  • Cold plunging can be powerful, but may pose risks for certain individuals. You should consult with your healthcare provider before participating.

Cold plunging isn’t recommended if you have a heart condition, breathing or circulation issues, are pregnant, postpartum, immunocompromised, healing from an injury, or prone to fainting or seizures.

If you’re feeling unwell, dizzy, or unsure, it’s best to skip it. The goal is to not just tough it out, it’s to tune in. Always listen to your body.
